Half way there!

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Thanks to everyone who’s contributed to the fundraising.

We’re nearly half way there with a grand total of £417 raised online and more in the collection tins.

The team are putting the finishing touches to the market stall application process and will be contacting everyone who’s expressed an interest soon.

Remember, you can also follow us on Facebook. Currently 87 members so please pass the word and get your friends to join. You can find updates on the market and news and views about what’s happening in the local area too.

Looking forward to the market finally happening in September. Fingers crossed!

“Last of the Real High Streets”

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

Two local residents, acclaimed street photographer Colin O’Brien and award-winning travel writer Jane Eggington, have spent the last year documenting Chatsworth Road in print and photos. Their labour of love will be on display at Chat’s Palace, 8th October – 27th November. Find out more about the exhibition.

If you want to read more about the street, and find out a little of its history, there’s a great article here:

Mailing list problem fixed

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

Apologies to anyone who received a bunch of emails from subscribers replying to the mailing list on Thursday/Friday this week.

The problem is now fixed and the only mails you should receive from @chatsworthroade5.co.uk in the future are from us telling you more information about the market.

We’ll keep these emails to the minimum and use them to update you on important developments.

You can also get regular updates by coming to this website or by checking our Facebook group.

Once again, we’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Some of you may have seen collection tins with the Chatsworth Road logo on in local shops.

We need to raise money to set-up the first three markets. You can read more about what the money will cover below. You can also make a donation via the PayPal button on the website.

After the first three markets we need to find ways to make the market self-funding. If you’d like to help, get in touch.

Support your market

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

We’re nearly there.

In September, we’re going to start the first Chatsworth Road market. This is the first of three monthly markets on a Sunday. If people like the market, then we’d like to hold it every week. But we need your help to get started.

What we need
It costs money to hold a market. You have to pay for the market inspector, renting the stalls and cleaning up. We need to raise £900 by the end of August to cover the costs of the first three markets. After that, we hope the market will be self-financing.

How you can help
There are over 900 people on this mailing list. If everyone donates £1, we’ll raise the money in no time.

There are two ways you can donate:

online via paypal
Click Donate on the right hand side of the page, just above the map.

in shops on Chatsworth Road
Look for the collection tins with the Chatsworth Road logo

Please give whatever you can to help get the market started.

And if you’d like to help in person, we’d love to hear from you. Just email us here: info@chatsworthroade5.co.uk
