Chatsworth Road Festival returns to celebrate Clapton’s independent high street

The Chatsworth Road Festival (ChatsFest) is back for a fun-filled day on Saturday 5th September from 10am to 9pm.

Live music, a surf simulator, boxing demonstrations by Pedro Boxing Club and roller hockey from the Lea Valley Lions will make this year’s ChatsFest a day to remember. The day will see the road closed to traffic and transformed into a place for adults and children alike to enjoy a day celebrating community spirit.

Activities on the day include a climbing wall, sumo suits and bouncy castle for children. There will be live music on The Dentist Stage and a DJ set from Comadisco for everyone to enjoy. The legendary Chatsworth Road Dog Show returns – judging, amongst other things, dogs who look like their owners – and everyone can enjoy a mouth-watering array of award winning street food and fabulous drinks with beers by Beavertown and a dedicated cava bar.

Hosted by Chatsworth Road Traders and Residents Association, the festival was revived in 2012 after a 34 year hiatus, bringing together the local community for a day of fun, live music, games and street food, all for free,

Local Lea Bridge Councillor Ian Rathbone said:

It’s fantastic to see ChatsFest become an annual event. It’s a great example of a community event – with different generations and cultures coming together from across the area to celebrate their neighbourhood and have a good time together!”

Festival organiser Allan Parker said:

“We’re thrilled that ChatsFest is back for a third year. The festival is getting bigger and better every year thanks to the support from businesses on the street and we hope it will become a staple in many Londoners’ calendar whether it’s where they live or they want to discover this corner of east London.”
